How can you help? We’re so glad you asked! Whether you’ve got an hour, an afternoon or a day to help out, we’ve got a position for you. And don’t worry, you don’t have to be at the school to volunteer if you can’t make it to school during the day or in the evenings. You can get involved from the comfort of your own home or by helping to purchase supplies, wherever and whenever it fits your schedule
- If you have an hour, you can take tickets at the door of an event, hang posters, sell popcorn, pick up paper goods or food items for an event, or contact local businesses to donate prizes to the Winter Bazaar.
- If you have a morning, you can process fundraiser order forms, prepare hotdogs, sell frozen treats, distribute lunch items, or pitch in for events like Play Day.
- If you have an evening, you can attend a monthly School Council meeting, bake items for an event bake sale, volunteer at a school dance, wrap classroom Bazaar baskets, or run the grill at a Family BBQ.
Whether you are able to volunteer just once this school year, or once every week, every bit helps and is appreciated beyond measure.
Police reference checks are now mandatory for all persons over the age of 18 who volunteer in TDSB schools or are in contact with students. This includes parents volunteering for School Council organized events, field trips, special events, etc. Some volunteer positions require this and do not. Please visit the SAB school office to find out how to complete your check, or call the TDSB Police Reference Check Office at 416-393-0759.
We always have volunteer opportunities for interested parents! If you’re interested, fill in the form below and we’ll get back to you ASAP.
