Girls Volleyball Tournament

On Tuesday, February 19th the grade 5 girls volleyball team traveled to Lambton-Kingsway school for their tournament. They had been practicing three times a week under the coaching expertise of Mme. Mahaney, Mr. Mejiaand Mr. Bates. The team was a little nervous to start the game but soon shook off their nerves to win the first game convincingly versus Rosethorn. Next up was the host team, Lambton-Kingsway. They played incredibly well and split the two sets to tie. As the day progressed the girls got better and better. They finished the round-robin portion of the tournament with a 1-0-2 record and advanced to the semi-final. The semi-final game was an intense one that required a tie-breaking third set. The girls came out fast and strong in the deciding set to secure the victory, advancing to the final game and a rematch against the host team. Unfortunately, they came up a bit short in the finals. It was a really fun day.

The girls represented SAB with positivity, camaraderie, and wonderful sportsmanship. They were kind, respectful and humble. Congratulations, girls. You made the whole school proud!
