Boys Soccer Team – Moving On!

On October 15th the grade 4 and 5 boys soccer team traveled to Rosethorn Public School for their round-robin tournament. They easily won their first game, defeating Kingsview Village 10-1. Next up was a hard-fought match against the host team, Rosethorn. The Knights were down 3-0 in the second half but managed to cut the lead to 3-2 late in the game. They were pushing hard for the equalizer but ran out of time. Their final game was against Wedgewood, who had won their first two games of the tournament. The boys played their best game of the day in pulling out a thrilling and excellently played 3-2 victory. Wedgewood, Rosethorn, and Sir Adam Beck all finished with identical 2-1 records. To break the tie, you look at the number of goals scored against each team. Sir Adam Beck only allowed 5 goals against while Rosethorn and Wedgewood each allowed 6. This meant Sir Adam Beck had won the tournament and will advance to the quarterfinals on October 22nd at Wellesworth PS. Congratulations gentlemen! You are great Knights!
